Join us for one or both days in the Pottery studio designed especially for teens during March Break! Open to aspiring ceramicists ages 12-17, each full-day workshop with Michelle Lynn will explore foundational techniques in wheel throwing and hand building while creating space for individual creativity and growth in clay.
Tuesday, Wheel Throwing: This one-day workshop will focus on building your skill on the pottery wheel and will challenge you to create functional vessels that will last a lifetime! With the morning spent throwing vessels on the wheel with time in the afternoon to trim and refine our creations, participants should expect to complete a maximum of four vessels, which will be glazed and fired at the gallery for pick-up two weeks later.
Thursday, Hand Building: This workshop is perfect for folks interested in expressing themselves through sculpture. Hand-built ceramics include a wide variety of forms, and you’ll learn the basic techniques of how to put together a structurally sound object in clay as well as adding decorative elements. Suitable for all skill levels, participants should expect to complete a small series of clay works, which will be fired at the gallery for pick-up two weeks later.
