“Clothes are our autobiography and our identity. Cloth’s materiality carries the absent body. Through clothing and textiles, connections of love and relationships transcend absence, death, memory, and genealogy.  Textiles are witnesses and recorders of our daily lives […] These remains, archaeological evidence of the lived and living – have something important to reveal in what they recall, however faded, stained and worn they have become. They are a sketch of the artist’s life –  a study, a notation.  Time refashions them into relics and shreds. Like looking at old photos, these ‘worn worlds’ capture these ordinary but essential moments of a life, and the domestic rituals that compose it.  In a sense, each piece takes years to create  –  from its conception, creating, the wearing, the fraying, the stains, …the years of use has left these markings. Worn Worlds celebrates the art that emerges from the ordinary in life.”
