This four‑week, hands‑on workshop in the AGB darkroom introduces participants to the exciting world of cameraless photography. Photography means ‘writing with light’, and in this series the ‘light touch’ comes from exploring the interaction of various light sources on different sensitized material in ways that are also lighter on the environment that traditional darkroom practices. Through a variety of historic and contemporary approaches, you’ll explore cameraless realms of lumen printing, phytography, and iron- and silver-based photography. You’ll also be introduced to sustainable analogue photography practices by creating waxed paper negatives and found (or brought) objects to playful engage with light and chemistry resulting in both archival and ephemeral pieces for you to enjoy.
