This workshop considers the sustainability of the materials and methods we typically use to produce analog photography. Together, we’ll go on a photowalk and identify weeds near the shore of Lake Ontario. These plants are turned into biodegradable photochemistry that we’ll use to develop our film. You’ll learn about the lake’s historical connection to film manufacturing, safe foraging techniques, and developing black & white 35mm film with plant-based developers.
Participants in this workshop will be required to bring their own 35mm camera for use during the photowalk. Film and other materials will be provided.
