Booking your event
Please contact our hospitality staff for availability and to book your event. A $600 deposit for Weddings and special events and a signed contract will confirm your date. The balance of the total rental fee must be received within 30 days of the event date.
Rates will vary based on the room, day of the week and time. All events include room set up and take down, as well as AGB tables, chairs, screen, podium, and microphones.
Parking for Wedding Receptions on weekends is included in the rental price. The AGB lot can accommodate 130 cars (parking lot entrance is off Elgin Street). We offer discounted parking fees for all other events please ask us for a quote.
The AGB allows special events to bring in their own decorations, but all decorations must be pre approved by management. No decorations that could cause damage to the walls or floor are allowed. Wedding guests and members of the wedding party are not permitted to bring glitter, confetti, birdseed or rice into the gallery.
All meetings and events at the AGB require proof of insurance coverage for 2 million dollars. If you have an existing homeowner or rental insurance plan that will cover you, we require proof of coverage naming both the Art Gallery of Burlington and the Corporation of the City of Burlington for your event date. If you would like to purchase insurance through the AGB we can quote based on the number of guests and event type.
SOCAN & Resound feeds (Entandem)
A Socan and ReSound tariff is applicable to all functions where live or reproduced music is played. A SOCAN (Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada) fee will be assessed according to the number of guests, space rented, dancing or no dancing, live music or DJ service. A Re:Sound license fee (fees for artists, musicians & record companies) will also be applied for the use of recorded music to accompany receptions (including weddings), conventions, assemblies and fashion shows. Approximate combined fees are $60-$90.
The AGB can supply limited audio visual equipment. Screens, extension cords, podiums and limited microphones (handheld and lapel) are available at no additional charge. LCD projector rental is available upon request. (Please note we do not supply laptops). The AGB does not provide any specific audio visual or technical support.
Deposits and cancellations
To confirm your event we require a 50% deposit at time of booking. All deposits are fully refundable 30 days prior to your event date. All reservations must be paid in full by event date.
Our event spaces, Galleries, courtyard & restrooms are all wheelchair accessible. Our Shoreline Room & Rotary rooms are equipped with a Hearing Assistance System.
