At the Art Gallery of Burlington, our studios are more than just workspaces—they’re creative
playgrounds where ideas take shape. Whether you’re throwing clay, weaving textiles, developing film, or
building in wood, our studios provide the tools, space, and supportive environment to dig deeper into
your practice. Please note the AGB Studio Access Schedule will be launching January 2026.
OUR STUDIOS
Pottery & Clay Studios
Dig in—literally. Our fully equipped pottery and clay studios support hand-building, wheel throwing, and surface decoration. With pottery wheels, slab rollers, extruders, a pugger, and an array of tools—as well as gas, electric, and raku kilns—you’ll find everything you need to shape, fire, and experiment. Just bring your clay, glazes, and inspiration.
Darkroom
Discover the art of slowing down. Step into our darkroom and experience the magic of black-and-white photography. With enlargers, trays, timers, safelights, drying racks, and more, the darkroom invites you to dig into the craft of traditional film and print processing. Bring your own film, paper, and chemicals—we’ll handle safe disposal.
Fine Arts Studio
Bright, open, and adaptable, the Fine Arts Studio is designed for painting, drawing, and printmaking. Outfitted with easels, sinks, large work tables, and generous natural light, it’s an inviting space to experiment with materials and scale. Whether you’re layering paint, sketching from life, or pulling a print, the studio provides room to expand your practice.
Photography Studio
For artists working with light, composition, and storytelling, the Photography Studio offers a professional-grade creative environment. Equipped with adjustable backdrops, studio lighting, tripods, and staging areas, it supports digital and analogue workflows alike. The space encourages experimentation—from portraiture and still life to conceptual and mixed-media projects.
Fibre Arts Studios
From loom to dye pot, our fibre arts studios celebrate the textures and colours of making. Equipped with floor and rigid heddle looms, plus dyeing facilities with stovetops, washer/dryer, and more, the studios offer space to connect the threads of weaving, quilting, rug hooking, and textile exploration.
Sculpture & Woodworking Studio
For makers who think in three dimensions. With sturdy worktables, clamps, a bandsaw, jigsaw, and lathe, this studio is ideal for woodworking, sculpting, and model-making. It’s a space to dig into form, structure, and material—and bring your boldest ideas to life.
