Join Lisa Meecham, member of the Burlington Hooking Craft Guild, for a live talk about traditional rug hooking, Black History in Canada and her family’s place within it.

In this talk, Lisa will discuss her mat Joe Izzard Plays the Fiddle circa 1900, and the role of rug hooking in preserving family stories and microhistories. After the talk, Lisa will answer questions, and deliver a rug hooking demonstration. This program is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Larry Weyand: Peeling the Sticker Off and Overripe Pear, on view from February 5th – May 16th, 2021.
